Elounda

The largest and most southerly of all the Greek islands, Crete is the legendary birthplace of Zeus, steeped in mythology and classical history. Minoans, Saracens, Turks and Venetians have all left their mark, creating an abundance of ancient sites.

Crete separates the Aegean from the Libyan Sea and marks the boundary between Europe and Africa. Majestic mountains rise in its centre – the White Mountains, Psiloritis, Dikti, while its plateaus are split by deep gorges and end in fertile valleys.

The coastline varies from long stretches of soft sand and tiny coves, to rocky shores full of interesting pools to explore. The scenery is constantly changing – in one place harsh and barren, in another wooded and gentle.

Elounda Eleon Villas is situated in a beautiful corner of Elounda, a famous seaside location on the Cretan island, which is approximately 60 km from Heraklion and 5 km from Agios Nikolaos, in the heart of the sightseeing area.
