There are two international airports on Crete, Heraklion in the east and Chania in the west, while Sitia airport is located in the far east. In the summer planes arrive from all over the world.
There are ports in Agios Nikolaos, Sitia and Heraklion, where ferries can be taken to and from the port of Piraeus (Athens), Rhodes, Kassos and Karpathos.
There are also ferries to Santorini, Spinalonga and Chrissi all of which can be done in a day as day trips.
Tour operated buses meet the flights at Heraklion airport and local buses can also picked up here for onward connections via taxi.
There is a taxi rank and limo service outside the airport for all destinations on Crete.
Several car hire companies have offices within the airport for either pre-booked or on the spot hire.

Sissi is near to all the places you should see but yet calm and quiet; it is small and hospitable, but full of life! The landscape is well balanced between the sea and the mountains. The sea is warm and calm and there are small, clean and romantic beaches.
There are paths for people who love biking and for those who prefer walking; there are also beautiful village roads with wonderful scenery.
The small and picturesque port of Sisi looks like a big natural swimming pool, ideal for walks by the sea.
On the east side of the village, there are the pebbled beach of Boufos and the small romantic beach of Avlaki. Close to Sissi are located the traditional villages of Vrahassi, Epano Sissi & Milatos.
